It’s still important to use H1 for Keywords. It’s so easy to forget about theses when you’re busy working on content updates.
Another and perhaps more in a structural situation, but helpful if you’re building a new site or up-grading... is to make sure your pages link to other site wide pages, as google like that, and possibly rank considering that.
Google has recently updated its user Webmasters pages for site owners.
With a more user-friendly interface. Areas to note are Google’s Search Console, URL inspection and Insights give recommendations on the site to help improve it’s user-friendliness and ultimately ranking better.
Lazy loading is also something to consider with high data pages, especially for use on mobile devices, where only the immediate images are loaded as and when the user scrolls down the page.
Google have also noticed that many users will shop for products using the image search, so making sure your images are optimised is worth considering, for good ranking.
Since July-Aug 2018 Google have also focused more on Quality rating. Also known as “Medic” update, called because a lot of medical sites were effected by this update last year. The update focused on E.A.T (Expert, Authority, Trust)
So I suggest you look at your sites with credible links from expert sites that hold a high level of Authority and that your site is trustworthy (secure) https: You’ll need to get a SSL certificate. Your web host can help with that, or simply google it, to find out more.
Ultimately keeping your site tidy and informative is key to the user, and google likes that too, so it’s worth taking a look at your site occasionally and updating it to utilise new technology and trends with Google Bing and others.
